STEPHANIE TURK

UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, 04  |  STETSON UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW, 12

Stephanie helps businesses navigate high-stakes disputes with a strategic, business-first approach focused on efficient results. Stephanie’s practical, results-oriented strategy is informed by two things: her best-in-class training (federal law clerk, partner at top regional firm) and her innate, obsessive drive to achieve the best possible results for her clients, whether through early resolution or trial.

Equally comfortable in federal court, state court and in arbitration, she represents businesses and individuals in complex commercial disputes, with particular expertise in those cases that touch on labor and employment issues: restrictive covenants, trade secret misappropriation, executive/shareholder disputes and business torts arising from employment relationships (such as tortious interference and unfair competition claims), discrimination/harassment/retaliation claims, and claims brought before administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Department of Labor (DOL), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Florida Commission on Human Relations (FCHR).

Beyond litigation, Stephanie serves as a trusted advisor to business owners and management, helping them navigate day-to-day employment and business challenges with a practical, risk-aware approach. She counsels employers on union avoidance strategies and election campaigns, the structuring and separation of employment relationships, and the negotiation of employment, separation, release, independent contractor, and restrictive covenant agreements. She also conducts internal investigations and compliance audits, trains management on employment law compliance, and drafts and updates personnel policies and employee handbooks.

As the former president of the South Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Stephanie is deeply committed to fostering a strong relationship between the judiciary and the community. Stephanie truly believes in access to justice and upholding the rule of law. She is passionate about educating our youth about those topics and exposing students to careers within and related to the courts. Stephanie’s passion had led her to assume a national role within the Federal Bar Association, where she chairs national efforts to promote civics education across the country.

In her free time, Stephanie scours employee handbooks for typos. Otherwise, she can be found doting on her two children and is currently obsessed with reading Carl Jung books and binge-watching Emily in Paris and The Bear (she’s catching up).
